Dandelion Lawn & Plume of Invisible Pathogens
2021-10-20, 5:13 p.m.

The journey of a dissertation starts with facing the fear of writing it out and having faith that you could write garbage, cut it up and come out with a brilliant diamond. But you need to sit with it, write in it, and spend time with it. I'm getting really good at typing without looking. i like looking at the windows and the sky. i know no one wears a mask outside anymore around here but i do because of the propensity to mow all of the lawns constantly and plant pollen heavy hydrangeas by all the windows. They're pretty but its cold as soon as the afternoon sun dips, we don't need any new plants people have bought on clearance at home depot. it's okay, if they wanted to plant some garlic or radishes but why the most pollen dense plant by my windows. i woke up with my nose in a plume of invisible pathogens.
Cut grass releases chemicals to tell the other plant life they've been injured. I wish people could let them live a little bit, always cutting them like they're bothering. They're fine. And I love a lawn of dandelions. They attract random butterflies and toddlers. Dandelion greens have lots of vitamins too.
